Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a black eagle' s head with a red tongue at the center of a silver and red diagonally striped Greek cross on a blue background, the stripes from upper left to lower right; all within a continuous maroon scroll, divided in two folds, the upper area inscribed 'DEDICATED" and in base "SERVICE" in silver letters.

Symbolism
Maroon and white are the colors used for Medical organizations. The cross, a traditional symbol for aid and assistance, symbolizes the basic mission of the U.S. Army Medical Department Activity, Nuernberg. The eagle's head and the white and red stripes adapted from the coat of arms of the city of Nuernberg allude to the home area and location of the Nuernberg MEDDAC Headquarters.
